This is an amazing post, Margaret, a lovely combination of trail info, gorgeous photos, your keen observations, and an honest look at death as part of the natural world. And I love the switch in perspective from human to animal!

I sure hope when those squirrels figure out what it all means in our human world they leave us a message, because I sure can't. Thanks for the entertaining and thought provoking post, Margaret. I won't look at ravens, or squirrels, the same for a while. Well maybe not ravens, because that's pretty much how I thought they think anyway.
