Contemplative Hiking

Hiking in Hall Ranch today felt like I was beamed up to some random trail in Arizona. It was downright HOT, cacti grow everywhere, and all that was needed to complete the illusion was the lonely screech of a circling hawk or vulture (ha!).

But can a tree communicate with a person through some sort of energetic or psychic capacity? You can try this game to find out.

There’s a secret world that exists that we can’t see or will never see, but there’s evidence of it on the Bobcat Ridge Natural Area.

This place feels like a secret, a retreat from the world, an impression I’m sure was heightened because we were the only people on the trail the entire way up, and on the way down ran into a couple of college students sitting on a stump, smoking a joint.

Does the experience of the land have anything to do with the feeling we get from it?
